• Quebec: the last week of August (around August 26, 2026) — Quebec's school year starts earliest in Canada.
• Exact dates vary by school board within a province. Confirm with your child's specific board once it posts the calendar, usually in June.

What American back-to-school checklists miss

The 4-week countdown

1. 4 weeks out: shop the supply list, buy indoor shoes a half-size up, label everything, book the eye exam, start shifting bedtime 15 minutes earlier every few days.
