Canadian Home Binder collects the minimum information needed to process your order, personalize the binders and checklists you buy, and deliver your digital download. This page describes what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you place an order, we collect your email address and the payment details required by Stripe, our payment processor. Card numbers are handled directly by Stripe and never touch our servers.

Most of our products are personalized: after checkout, you fill in a short questionnaire about your household so we can generate your PDF and Excel workbook. Depending on the product, this can include things like the names and ages of household members, pets, your province or territory, home details (type, systems, appliances), and — for products where it's relevant, like the Emergency Binder or Budget Binder — information you choose to enter such as medical conditions, medications, or income and debt figures. You control exactly what you enter; fields are optional unless a specific document requires them to function (for example, a medication tracker page needs medication names to be useful).

How we use it

We use your email to send your download link and any transactional order emails. We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in.

We use your questionnaire answers only to generate the personalized files you purchased. We store them so you can regenerate your files (up to 10 times within 30 days of purchase) without re-entering everything from scratch. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with anyone outside the service providers listed below.

Third parties

We rely on Stripe for payment processing, Resend for transactional email delivery, and Supabase to store order records and questionnaire answers so your downloads and regenerate window keep working. All three providers are subject to their own privacy policies, and none of them use your data for their own marketing.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your questionnaire answers and order record, by emailing admin@canadianhomebinder.ca. Keep in mind that deleting your questionnaire answers before your 30-day window ends means you'll need to re-enter your household details to regenerate a file.
