Blundstone Size Guide: How to Get the Right Fit

Find your foot length in cm (measure heel to longest toe, standing, at the end of the day when feet are largest), then match it to the AU/UK size. If you're between sizes, most wearers size down rather than up because Blundstones stretch with wear but never really tighten.

Should you size down?

• Blundstone's last is narrower through the midfoot than most North American work boots, so a true-to-length size can feel snug across the top for the first several wears.
• Many long-time wearers buy a half size (or one full AU size) down from their measured length and rely on the boot stretching to the foot over the break-in period.
• If you have a wide or high-volume foot, stick with your true measured size instead of sizing down — you'll avoid pressure on the outside of the foot that never fully resolves.
• When between two sizes on the chart, choose the smaller one if you plan to wear thin socks, and the larger one if you'll mostly wear the boots with wool or work socks.

How sock thickness changes the fit

• A thick wool sock can take up nearly half a size of internal volume, which matters because Blundstone doesn't offer half sizes in most styles.
• Try boots on with the sock weight you'll actually wear them with day to day, not the thin dress socks you happened to have on at the store.
• The elastic side gussets flex a little to accommodate sock thickness, but they won't compensate for a boot that's a full size too small.

What to expect during break-in

• New Blundstones are noticeably stiffer across the vamp and around the ankle for the first 1–2 weeks of regular wear; this eases as the leather relaxes.
• Wearing them for short stretches (a few hours at a time) for the first week is more comfortable than jumping straight to all-day wear.
• A little heat and flex — walking around the house, flexing the boot by hand — speeds up softening the leather around the pull tabs and ankle.
• The footbed also compresses and molds to your foot shape over the first month, which is part of why the initial fit should be snug rather than roomy.
